Hello there and welcome! My name is Goran Popović.

As you may have guessed my self-assigned alias is Geoligard. I'm a software developer, historian, cinephile and a gamer. I created my first blog back in 2012. That was the first time I felt a strong drive towards programming that hasn't stopped since. I think that being able to create something out of a few pieces of code, watch it all come together, and finally the pure joy of it actually working as envisioned is one of the best feelings there are.

I created a frontend template used on this very blog back in 2015. while I was still going through my humble programming beginnings, so I thought it would be a great idea to use it today a basis for my personal website, even though the design (and the code) are a bit outdated (ok, a lot) and could use some love.

I took my first professional steps within the WordPress ecosystem, but for the last couple of years I have really enjoyed working with Laravel and I don't think that will change soon (or ever). So I hope to share some of the knowledge accumulated throughout the years in the form of articles for now, and maybe some other ways in the future. I hope to write mostly about Laravel, but other related topics might find their way in as well.
